The Manager Facility Maintenance is responsible for facilities management for Goodwill Great Lakes. Manages a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), assists in resolving problems with repairs and/ or services, and performs quality assurance inspections on NAVFAC, vendors and contractor projects to ensure their products and/ or equipment meet contract specifications.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Implements strategy for facilities management for Naval Station Great Lakes. Oversees daily operations, direct staff and ensures implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs. Maintains operating budget and manages expenses. Communicates budgetary performance. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 1-2 years and focuses on the creation of systems, processes and programs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Leading and Developing Talent: Manages departmental structure, development and training of staff. Actively networks and sources for positions within the team.
2. Project and Change Management: Plans and manages projects of low to moderate complexity related to departmental function. Manages change with direct reports and participates in the leadership coalition that supports the change.
3. Community Engagement: Understands social trends driving Goodwill's community engagement initiatives, and champions initiatives.
4. Manages a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) on the completion of all equipment repairs, material expended and spare parts inventory. Plans and coordinates regular preventative maintenance and inspection activities for multiple locations.
5. Assists in resolving problems with repairs and / or services; discusses defective or unacceptable material/services with users or vendors to determine source of trouble/problem and appropriate corrective action.
6. Perform quality assurance inspections on NAVFAC, Vendors and Contractor projects to ensure their products and/or equipment meet contract specifications and report all discrepancies to appropriate management staff and/or Contracting Officer Representative (COR) as required.
7. Submit work order request on all Food Service and Logistic facility related issues to NAVFAC Assistant Public Works Officer (APWO). Maintain and track all submitted request, submit weekly report to Facility Support staff and appropriate APWO.
8. Manage and coordinate NAVOSH/OSHA inspections within Food Service and Logistic contracted facilities. Submit and track work orders on all discrepancies, submit an inspection summary report to Assistant Director of Facilities Support Services.
9. Maintains and ensures a safe and orderly work environment.
10. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Associates Degree or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' experience

2. 3-5 years experience servicing commercial appliance equipment.

3. Valid driver's license required. Fork lift & Scissor lift licenses required.

4. Federal Government Security Clearance, Classification "favorable determination."

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Job requires the following: remain stationary for sustained periods of time; ability to move about to accomplish tasks; must be able to operate a computer or similar technology, which typically involves substantial motions of wrist, hands and/or fingers; visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing data, operating equipment or review thoroughness of work; ability to communicate with others and exchange information. Regularly lifts and/or moves up 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 20 pounds, occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Moves about to accomplish tasks. Lift: Raises objects from lower to higher position or moves objects horizontally. Reach: Extending upwards or downwards to retrieve objects. Stoop, kneel crouch or crawl: Positions self to retrieve objects Climb: Moves up or down ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps and the like. Worker is subject to hazards: proximity to dangerous machinery, moving vehicles, electrical currents, chemicals, or high places.
