What you will do
The Johnson Controls Global Information Security (GIS) team is undergoing a transformation and expansion as Johnson Controls increases its cybersecurity resources and capabilities in order to address the ever-changing cybersecurity threat landscape.

You will be a Cybersecurity and information governance subject matter expert capable of partnering across functional disciplines to bring clarity to measurements and trends within and affecting the Information Protection Risk landscape.
You will articulate thoughts clearly, plan initiatives, and execute with appropriate urgency as well as demonstrate drive, intelligence, maturity, and energy and will be a proven change agent.

How you will do it

  • Lead workshops with business stakeholders to continually understand the lifecycle of critical and sensitive information and develop use cases to frame the development of the Information Protection Program.

  • Work with Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) business units, markets and functions to define, locate and classify critical and sensitive information and ensure the appropriate controls are implemented according Information Owner requirements and classification level.

  • Engage with JCI business units, markets, and functions in order to establish thresholds and tolerances for movement of company information, especially to non-JCI owned repositories or recipients.

  • Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies, standards, procedures, work instructions and guidelines for the general operation of the Information Protection Program and its related activities.

  • Direct and maintain companys high-risk employee program.

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify information at risk and provide strategic thought leadership on capabilities (people, process, technology) that will protect data while in transit, in use and at rest within and outside of the corporate boundaries.

  • Work with legal, privacy, audit and regulatory teams to periodically review policies, procedures and program compliance.

  • Regularly update line management on progress and trends related to their area of expertise.

What we look for

  • Bachelors degree in discipline related to existing job experience. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered

  • 8+ years of experience as a Manager leading an Information Governance/Security team in a complex, global company

  • 8+ years of experience implementing Information Governance/Security strategies and technologies

  • Experience with driving the vision, priorities and plans for security programs

  • Experience identifying business and technical requirements to enable a consistent level of information protection across Johnson Controls and performing gap assessments against those requirements

  • Knowledge in the area of Information Security, including Security Operations, Governance, Information Security Risk, and Compliance functional areas.

  • Functional knowledge of common data security, legal and regulatory requirements

  • Experience performing assessments and audits of compliance against security policies and standards

  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills and the ability to analyze and make effective, business and technical recommendations to business leaders and senior management

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

  • Organized, responsive and highly thorough problem solver

  • Past experience directly supporting business units on Cybersecurity issues strongly preferred.

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or equivalent security certifications strongly preferred.
