Job Description:

Position Summary:

The responsibility of the Manufacturing/Operations Training Coordinator will be to manage the internal training & development program called Building a Talented Organization (BTO). Building a Talented Organization is an initiative developed by Cooper Standard to support and improve people development.

The BTO-Job Breakdown initiative is a company-wide program that involves all employees and leads to World Class Operations (WCO), high performing and engaged workforce by achieving the following key business objectives:

  • Improved safety in the workplace

  • Improved productivity

  • Reduced scrap loss

  • Reduced training time

  • Reduced employee turnover

  • Global standardized training methodology

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be the subject matter expert of the elements of BTO such as work instruction creation, operator training, shop floor instructor certification.

  • Support Launch to ensure all new business has the work instructions and operator training aligned to the BTO process

  • Support Quality and perform additional operator audits in areas having production issues

  • Train supervisors on their responsibilities to support shop floor training and record retention

  • Organize and execute the BTO Methodology training classes for general population and to certify new instructors

  • Perform annual audits on all BTO Instructors to ensure they are still following BTO training process

  • Update monthly metrics on a global SharePoint and attend the monthly BTO Trainer calls for North America.

  • Be available to the Regional BTO Master Trainer for the bi-annual plant audit

Education and Qualifications:

  • Required to have high school diploma with post-secondary education considered an asset

  • Experience or education in delivering training, speaking in front of a group and working with a variety of people

  • Ability to use and present from PowerPoint and be proficient in other Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.

  • Be organized and keep track of training projects

  • Strong communication skills and be able to work with various levels of the management team

Work Environment/Work Conditions:

Work time will be spent in a standard office environment with manufacturing plant exposure.
