The Impact Youll Make in this Role
Responsible to the Operations General Supervisor. This position will be responsible for direct supervision of hourly production operators. Responsibilities will include the supervision and management of all functions involved in the production of 3M products in a safe and economic fashion. Responsible for direct supervision, training, safety performance, product quality, cost control, employee communications, employee morale and productivity

This job requires strong computer and communication skills in addition to manufacturing knowledge. This job may require climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding as related to manufacturing process. A willingness to be flexible with shift assignments as needed for training, supervision, or other purposes.

  • Ensures a safe working environment through formal inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, safety meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures, and equipment.
  • Provides effective communication to employees through crew meetings, electronic mail, etc.
  • Ensure employees receive training as specified.
  • Reviews, updates, and communicates product standards.
  • Monitors production rates, yields, and quality of products on a daily basis and provides feedback to employees on results. Organizes and reviews changeovers with appropriate staff to minimize downtime. Addresses production issues such as scheduling, quality, run time, etc.
  • Promote teamwork, maintain good work ethic, and adhere to all confidentiality information. Must be able to clearly explain specific operations objectives, present training, ask for feedback. Assist in documenting training.
  • Coordinate with other manufacturing supervisors on operations or other activities.
  • Maintain records and reports as required by QMS.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Operations General Supervisor

This position will require:

Will require working extended hours and alternate shifts.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of Manufacturing Supervisory experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Five (5) years of manufacturing supervisory experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Package, Dozuki experience, MES knowledge.
  • Understanding of Lean Management Systems, and lean tools.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
