What you will do
Under general direction of the Business Development Leader performs assigned tasks for Water Resiliency projects. Responsibilities include working with market teams to assist in sales qualifications of water/wastewater customers. Working with Area General Managers, Sales Managers, Account Executives and Operation and Engineering Managers identifying, quantifying and qualifying water and wastewater opportunities. The Market Manager work with area teams may include conducting site inspections as well as conducting end-user interviews to gather accurate information for the evaluation of the opportunity. Works with Market Teams to determine feasibility of technology and strategy implementation while still meeting customer financial goals. Drives sustainable growth for water and wastewater solutions. Develop and assist the Market Teams in creating a plan and monitors the plan to drive pipeline. Provides technical expertise and evaluations of potential opportunities including building and creating credibility with customers through sales support throughout the project.

How you will do it
Using their technical expertise in the water and wastewater field, the Market Manager will evaluate/inspect the customers specialized process equipment, and data collection to perform an assessment of the treatment facility.

Executes, evaluates, and generates field notes/ of current conditions. Works with the customers facility managers or designated representatives to complete assigned tasks assisting the Market Team. Adheres to key safety protocols and/or escorts to access customer facilities. Notes and communicates accessibility restrictions and safety conditions to management that may impact project costs and timelines for the Market Team.

Ability to identify process opportunities in the development of a viable project meeting the expectations of the customer. Supports/assists and prepares accurate documents and other deliverables that may be deemed necessary to provide best-in-class proposals.

Participate in customer meetings creating value and credibility with the customer. Will provide assistance and recommendations to the Market Teams regarding appropriate consulting engineering companies, regional equipment manufacturers and representatives and technology providers.

Responsible for the promotion and adherence of JCI safety policies. Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee safety and customer safety protocols.

Responsible for remaining current with relevant professional operations certifications and licenses.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

What we look for

Ability to work with Local Government officials including but not limited to Mayor, City Manager, Public Works Director, Executive Director, water/wastewater superintendent, and plant staff. Knowledgeable of regional and national water and wastewater utility issues and challenges through memberships with AWWA and WEF local and state chapters.

Must be able to effectively communicate in a professional manner via formal written and oral means to most levels of management. Ability to mentor/teach water/wastewater technologies to Market Teams throughout the company.

Must be self-motivated, organized, and have a high level of attention to detail. Ability to work remotely in a virtual team environment. Must be able to be granted access to high security facilities through various federal and state background investigations. Travel up to 50%.


Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree and 10 (ten) years of experience working with or for a Local Government entity is preferred. Holds or obtains wastewater operator certification or environmental professional engineering license.
MBA preferred.
