Meadowside Operations Manager

Position Overview

You will act as a role model and educator of the Johnsonville Way thus facilitating this as a way of life within the Meadowside facility.

  • Exemplify and advocate the Johnsonville Way every day

  • Coordinate the production scheduling, line capacity and crewing to support new product development and to execute product launches to market for the Co-Ex Business which includes: Sanitation, Meat Inspection, and Formulation.

  • Serve as the point person for R&D, Innovation Center, and Engineering resources in the development of products and capabilities to grow Johnsonvilles share in RTE categories with products produced using the Co-Ex technology.

  • Identify margin improvements by having a thorough understanding of the product categories, competition, input cost, and manufacturing cost.

  • Coach your area and its Members to deliver superlative performance in safety, quality, cost and service.

  • Coach members to achieve their God given talents. Develop a readiness pipeline for members and ensure every member has a fantastic Personal Develop Commitment in place

  • Drive product cost improvements by knowing the costing details and leading/implementing cost improvements

  • Lead projects through the use of cross functional teams on the implementation and continuous improvement of safety, quality and productivity initiatives

  • Lead the development of strategic initiatives within your areas of responsibility

  • Develop, monitor and implement a budget and capital plan for business activities for your areas of responsibility

  • Lead and manage capital projects within your areas of responsibility

  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards

  • Lead the Meadowside Co-Ex Business to be a Best in World in lean manufacturing results.

Qualifications (What you bring to the job):

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a leadership/coaching role with significant involvement in developing Members to greater levels of responsibility
  • Bachelors Degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience in the food industry is preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing others
  • Demonstrated success and experience in Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement disciplines required
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, fast pace & high degree of change
  • Analytical ability (gathers critical data, influences informed decisions)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in budgeting, capital planning, capacity planning and productivity pipeline projects
  • Experience in strategic planning processes
  • Demonstrated communication and listening skills
  • Commitment to personal growth
  • Demonstrated learning agility
  • Ability to lead by example and involve others in the decision making process
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities
  • Proven ability to "widen the circle of engagement" and ownership
