SUMMARY
Places order, receives, stores, wraps and stocks meat by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensure that the customer service 10' rule is enforced throughout the department and store.

Familiar with all cuts of meat to be wrapped and weighed.

Knowledgeable with tare weights and price changing in the scale system to maximize accuracy regarding sales and margins. Proper wrapping and labeling as well.

Works area of the meat department assigned by manager such as the f r ozen, lunchmeat and open cases and meets company productivity and rotation requirements set by the company.

Responsible for the short date list for the lunchmeat section in the department.

Responsible for cleaning, sanitation, and food handling practices set by department and company.

Assists the manager with the markdown/reduce program.

Assists with unloading and putting away product.

Assists customers with any questions they might have regarding the cuts of meat and how to prepare.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS - must be minimum age of 18

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a cooler type environment while working in the cutting room in which temperatures will be between 38 to 46 degrees.
