Based in Springfield, Massachusetts, New England Public Media is the new alliance of NEPR (New England Public Radio) and WGBY-TV. It provides audiences with a broad array of local and national programs across all media -- TV, radio, online, and mobile,including PBS and NPR programs as well as locally produced series, podcasts and specials. Its four digital TV channels, and two radio networks present news, jazz and classical music, and cultural programming.NEPM is an independently operated organization affiliated with WGBH.

NEPMs Education Department is responsible for providing and developing learning opportunities to improve outcomes for children, families, educators, and students.

Media Lab Program Liaison is responsible for coordinating all administrative tasks and communications necessary to support the Media Lab program. Alongside NEPM's Education Team, the liaison will communicate directly with the program participants and families regarding all administrative aspects of the program.


  • Track daily attendance and manage student roster.

  • Disseminate and collect evaluations and signed release forms.

  • Assist with keeping participants and families informed of ongoing activities and program schedule.

  • Co-lead the PhotoVoice workshop session with other Media Lab facilitators.

  • Assisting other Media Lab/YPAR workshops (i.e. Podcast and Digital Storytelling activities) in person or via Zoom, as appropriate.

  • Attend and help facilitate group meetings with students in-person or remote

  • Accompany students out into the field to gather content as needed

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups as students develop their stories

  • Other reasonable related duties as assigned by Senior Director of Educational Engagement.


  • Superbly organized and able to manage multiple projects, tasks, and shifting priorities

  • Excellent communication skills - written, oral and listening. Ability to interact and communicate effectively in a hybrid working environment

  • Familiarity with basic standards of journalistic practices and ethics

  • Ability to understand work environment, interpersonal dynamics, and the context of decision-making on a variety of levels

  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and apply to daily tasks

  • Collaborative approach and nature

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work and presentation

  • Willingness to learn and strong drive to achieve

  • Willing to take appropriate initiative and exercise good judgment to get the job done

  • Punctual


  • Associates Degree or Equivalent experience in Public Media

  • High level proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite, and Zoom

  • Basic audio and video editing skills

  • Previous experience working with youth and family in an educational setting

  • Experience working in a team environment
