At KGTV the Media Manager is a union position that is responsible for advanced knowledge in operating the Master Control switcher, manning proper audio and video levels and overseeing our channels air performance and accuracy resulting in a quality on air shift in a senior technician role.

Training, guiding and coaching new operators.
Observing and recording transmitter power, maintains station power log and reports any necessary adjustments in accordance with FCC Rules and Regulations to Engineering.
Aligning satellite receiver dish, adjusting audio and video levels as well as recording programs while down linking satellite feeds.
Responsible for back-timing and adjusting all On Air
Dubs commercials and programs into video servers with proper technical parameters.
Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience/Certifications
1-2 years vocation/technical training or an Associates Degree.
5-8 years of operating a Master Control switcher in a television station or equivalent experience in a video production facility.
2 years prior commercial television experience; 3 years experience preferred.

Advanced knowledge of Master Control. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Advanced knowledge of operating various video servers, scopes and switchers.
Advanced knowledge of transmitter power parameters.
Advanced knowledge of machine playback from a variety of server formats.
Experience with automation systems.
Good organization, attention to detail and proactive thinker.
Must be able to perform duties with accuracy, under exact and immediate deadlines.
Must have good mathematic skills, especially with addition and subtraction.
Must have good manual dexterity.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Must be able to sit at a desk for long period of time
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Must be able to reach overhead.
