Position Summary:

The Technical Training Manager will manage a team that is responsible for all learning and education delivery activities across the Cigna Medicare Clinical Operations team. This position is responsible for managing the timely execution of training that includes defining training scope, training content, coordination, approach and delivery timelines that aligns with business needs, training library, job aids, communications, and assisting with risk/issue identification and resolution strategies as needed.

This position will be responsible for working collaboratively with Business Subject Matter Experts, Business Process Owners, Compliance, IT partners (internally and sourced), and other technical team members to ensure effective training delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the learning & education owner within the Clinical Operations team by effectively managing the execution of training deliverables and activities for the department
  • Directs or performs analysis, design, development, and implementation of training materials, programs and interventions
  • Works collaboratively across functions to recommend non-learning solutions that impact performance (i.e. process improvement, communication, org. structure, etc.)
  • Mentors and coaches learning staff on skill and career development
  • Conducts audits and evaluates impact of training on performance
  • Has management/supervisory and/or project leadership responsibility
  • Responsible for vendor management/contracting at a program level
  • Defines and manages training scope, training content and coordination, training delivery, job aid development and coordination, and documentation inventory
  • Identifies new opportunities for training & education to validate that all stakeholders in the future states processes have been properly trained and prepared
  • Identifies process impacts and offers recommendations for improvements
  • Partners with Business areas to determine optimal training & education methods and approach
  • Manages the execution of training & education activities
  • Manages training & education content to ensure consistency and alignment with project scope
  • Evaluates overall training & education effectiveness
  • Continuously assess documentation inventory to ensure training and job aids are up-to-date and optimally aligned with core business/operational processes
  • Assesses effectiveness of the design and delivery of training & education (and materials)
  • Manages all deliverables and implementation of work regarding training & education ensuring timely completion
  • Manages appropriate and timely communications internally, externally, and with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders about releases, training, and critical activities
  • Researches and resolves reported issues related to training & education
  • Partners with compliance to understand CMS requirement and provides solutions to ensure training & education are compliant
  • Collaborate with both internal and external partners as well as vendors to analyze and prioritize key training requirements and tasks
  • Oversee regular process reviews to ensure we are operating within regulatory compliance and business requirements and to identify potential opportunities for enhancement
  • Manage the maintenance of training and job aids for quality assurance
  • Develop and maintain productivity metrics for learning and development team

Qualifications:

  • Learning and development experience required; knowledge using instructional design tools a plus
  • Demonstrated ability using multiple training methods to meet business demands
  • Operations experience preferred
  • Medicare Advantage experience preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels and diverse partners
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to influence without authority
  • Independent, quick learner with ability to impart knowledge to others effectively
  • Demonstrates ability to lead, influence, and problem-solve across various Cigna businesses
  • Ability to build solid working relationships with staff, matrix partners, customers and providers
  • Demonstrated process improvement experience
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in managing in a virtual environment
  • Highly self-managed and motivated
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing guidelines and readily integrate into workflow
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 83,300 - 138,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
