Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company that will inspire you and empower you to shine? Join us as a Lead Metrology Technician - 2nd Shift in our Brooklyn Park office.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Lead configuration management in a joint effort with Automation Engineering.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting instrumentation and low voltage plant equipment and systems.
  • Lead the day to day on-floor activities of the metrology department to ensure activities are completed on time and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
  • Performs calibrations and maintains the calibration scheduling system to conform to facility requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support instrument and control panel device replacement work orders - wiring and configuration.
  • Field support for troubleshooting instrumentation and low-voltage electrical issues.
  • In close cooperation with Engineering, performs repair and troubleshooting of process-based instrumentation.
  • Serve as the technical resource for metrology related issues, providing support for both our customers and metrology technicians.
  • Leads staff to ensure completion of all routine and non-routine work and projects in compliance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Manage the calibration schedule in order to optimize resources and minimize impact to manufacturing scheduling.
  • Develops, writes and revises standard operating procedures, and trains calibration personnel on those procedures.
  • Will be a contact for off shift calibration support, serving as a technical resource to both our technicians and customers.
  • Complete mandatory training within required timeframe.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • AS or BS in a technically related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience within the field of Metrology preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP guidelines, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, 210/211, ISO 14644 and 17025; and other international regulatory requirements.
  • Sound industry knowledge, project proficiency, and autonomy expected.
  • Demonstrates initiative; ability to undertake additional responsibilities and respond to situations as they arise with little or no supervision.
  • Requires excellent analytical skills with systematic approaches to problem solving. Must be able to break down complex problems and tasks into activities capable of being performed by personnel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in verbal and written form, including technical/business writing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around the cGMP manufacturing facility.
  • May occasionally be required to lift weights in excess of 70 lbs.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include: safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection
