The Scripps National Team is seeking an experienced National Anchor and Reporter that will be based in Denver, Colorado.

The National Anchor and Reporter is responsible for anchoring a 30-minute newscast for broadcast and using powerful storytelling reporting skills for our broadcasts. Our shows and stories are viewed across the country on Scripps-owned TV stations.


  • Anchor 30-minute newscast for national team Monday through Friday.

  • Assist in writing and proofing the 30-minute newscast.

  • Gather, write and report content for multiple platforms, including posting stories on digital.

  • Incorporate storytelling techniques including character-driven focus, powerful writing, reveals and emotion

  • Research and develop news stories.

  • Fill-in anchor for centralized newscasts or other national shows.

  • Overnight travel is required.

  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.


  • Reporter in a top 40 Nielsen Market for at least 3 years.

  • Anchor in a top 40 Nielsen Market for at least 3 years.


  • Genuine Anchor with the ability to command presence in a completely virtual set.

  • Innovative content ideas and powerful storytelling reporting.

  • Communicates effectively with producers.

  • Collaborative on content and ideas for segments and shows.

  • A leader who can help grow teammates.

  • Valid drivers license and valid passport.
