Join our REMARKABLE Eye Care Team that is nationally recognized for excellence!

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant/Surgery Scheduler to:

  • Schedule surgeries and perform measurements for cataract surgery.

  • Perform visual testing in both preventative and specialty eye care.

  • Provide a safe and comforting atmosphere for eye care patients of all ages.

  • Work in a fast-paced team environment.

Minimum: High School Degree or equivalent.
Preferred: Completed an accredited Ophthalmic/Optometric program, Certified Medical Assistant program or Licensed Practical Nurse program.

Work Experience:
Minimum - One (1) year of clinical health care experience, if has not completed an educational program.
Preferred - One (1) year experience as a Certificated Ophthalmic/Optometric Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum - CPR Certification. Within 18 months of hire will achieve one of the following certifications: COA, CPOT, CPOA.
Preferred - Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA, CPOT, CPOA). If LPN, Wisconsin Practical Nurse licensure. If MA, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA)

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Good customer service skills

  • Ability to function as a team member

  • Knowledge of Ophthalmic procedures

Physical Requirements:
Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 36hours per week position scheduled to work Monday through Friday between8:00 am and5:00 pm. Some meetings are scheduled before or after work. No weekends or holidays are required. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.

Sign-On Bonus: This position is eligible for up to a $2,000 sign-on bonus (pro-rated on FTE/Hours).
