PACU RN for our new Ambulatory Surgery Center - Per Diem

Our per diem nurse works on a day-to-day basis when needed to cover for regularly scheduled nurses who have personal or sick days off. A per diem nurse is required to be available to work 4 shifts per month, but is not guaranteed any hours. Per Diem nurses are used to fill gaps in the schedule once regularly scheduled staff (FT and PT) have been slotted into shifts.

Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.

• Assess patient's postoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures.
• Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors. Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes. Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions. Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer (eg, Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score (ie, PARSAP), Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System (PADSS), White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy. Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care. Implement the plan of care including interventions.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Current Unencumbered WA State RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Two years post-anesthesia care experience preferred.
• Conscious Sedation experience a plus.
• Use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Basic understanding of clinic policies.
• Be supportive, honest, consistent, and a team player.
• Possess a positive attitude and welcome challenges.
• Must have predictable and reliable attendance.

Pay Range:
$37.92 - $56.87
