Overview:




As DeVry continues to grow, we are looking for a new team member to join us in providing exceptional care for our colleagues. This position is responsible for executing all aspects of payroll administration. As an integral member of DeVrys total rewards team, the Payroll Analyst, through collaboration with external vendors and internal partners will ensure the accurate preparation, documentation, and timely submission of payroll in accordance with DeVry policies and government regulations.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Under the direction of Manager, Payroll & HRIS, this role is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of a multi-state payroll

  • Process payments to include new hires, termination payouts, pay increases, short-term disability, FMLA, discretionary/nondiscretionary bonuses, and annual/quarterly bonuses

  • Validate data in the HRIS system such as salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, new hire/termination dates, transfers, local tax jurisdiction setups, and leave of absences

  • Review timesheets to ensure the two-step authorization process is completed by both colleagues and managers. Work with different departments to correct any timesheet errors and/or discrepancies

  • Process garnishments

  • Analyze pre-transmission and post-transmission audit reports to ensure accurate payroll

  • Prepare and maintain standard/ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity

  • Work with the payroll team on special projects and day-to-day payroll needs

  • Maintain a high level of customer service by timely answering payroll-related inquiries

  • Work alongside the payroll manager to register new tax locations. Communicate with tax agencies to complete registration

  • Assist with researching payroll tax-related issues and work with Ceridian tax service to seek resolution

  • Assist with quarterly/year-end processes including W-2 distribution

  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications:




  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in accounting or finance

  • 2-5 years of payroll experience required

  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is strongly preferred

  • Experience working with time and attendance, payroll, and HRMS systems (Ceridian Dayforce system preferred)

  • Experience processing multi-state payrolls (including the State of Pennsylvania) a plus

  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel, V-look ups, Pilot Tables and Word required

  • Attention to detail with strong analytical, customer service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Must have a strong commitment to continue preserving the integrity and security of colleagues data
