The Washington Post is looking for an energetic personal technology editor to join our technology teamin San Francisco.
This editor will help lead a team of columnists and reporters whoassessthe impact of technology on our lives. From investigations to quick-turnaround pieces, reviews, how-to guides and videos, the teamemploysa wide range of story formats in its mission to make technology easily understandable to our growing audience.
The ability to coach reporters and columnists,such ashelping them spot the bigger idea in product launches and announcements, is essential. Talents shouldalsoinclude anticipating what's buzzy in consumer technology, devising coverage plans forcomplexevents and editing sophisticated features.
This person will report to T echnology E ditor Christina Passariello, and work with Deputy Technology Editor Laura Stevens. Once we resume normal operations,this positionwill not be eligible for remote work.
The ideal candidate will have some experience editing technology coverage. Enthusiasm, strong line-editing ability and conceptual skills are necessary to succeed in this position.
