We are seeking a Pharmacy Buyer to:

• Coordinate daily pharmaceutical purchasing needs for our retail pharmacy locations.


• Maintain ordering compliance for our 340B contract pharmacies.


• Manage timely transportation of medications throughout our healthcare system.


• Assist in proper billing and cost transfers for medications across our healthcare system.


• Assist in vaccine tracking information using the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.


• Collaborate on and track ordering needs and usage of seasonal influenza vaccine.

Education:
Minimum High School Diploma.
Preferred Bachelors Degree in Business or related field.

Work Experience:
Minimum Three (3) years of related experience within the area of purchasing, ordering of supplies or inventory control; or three (3) years of experience as pharmacy technician.
Preferred Two (2) years of experience in a pharmaceutical setting.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and professional interactive skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management and inter-department staff.

• Ability to work independently with little supervision and in a team environment where you will be collaborating with a variety of professionals.


• Planning / Organization - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities/deadlines and shift priorities as necessary. Uses time effectively.


• Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions.


• Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. Makes timely decisions.

• Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional hours outside of this schedule, only as needed. No weekends or holidays arerequired. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.

UW Health Pharmacy Services Building a non-clinical location in Middleton that houses nearly 100 Pharmacy professionals. These employees perform various services and duties, including pharmacy administration, Pharmacy Technician Training Program, pharmacy primary care services, medication prior authorization, sterile and non-sterile compounding, specialty/mail service program and call center.
