Education: High school diploma or GED, minimum required. Must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy, minimum required.
License and Certification: Current pharmacy technician certification that is recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is preferred but not required. If not already obtained, a pharmacy technician must obtain a certified technician certificate within one year of hire. All technicians must maintain certification throughout their employment with the UC Health Pharmacy Department.
Work Experience: One to two years equivalent experience, minimum required. Three to five years, preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods; work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities and solve problems; respond quickly to emergency requests; communicate effectively (orally and in writing), and assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by the organization.
