Job Description

Job Responsibility

Provide the most important tasks and responsibilities of the position (e.g. budget, sales, cost)

  • Guarantee continuity of supply for part numbered Auxiliary Materials in JDE including non BOM items. Ensure that supply is in line with requirements and the requested safety stock targets.
  • Optimized and independent Purchasing Planning, Materials Management and tracking of assigned items from Supply/Demand and Order Placement up to release of material (Full Product Portfolio Management).
  • Continuous monitoring/maintenance of safety stock levels, slow moving items and Inventory turn rate.
  • Secure information flow between supplier and internal stakeholders (Supply Chain Planning, Global Sourcing and Procurement, Supplier Quality, Receiving and Inspection) on an operational level.
  • Supply chain Discard Management overview and trending responsibility

Tasks

Functions

Reporting and analysis: 40%a)

Perform analysis/review tasks and subsequently implement corresponding/corrective actions for: MRP run messages, Safety Stock, item master data (Planner Buyer resp. related parameter), inventory level (i.e. slow movers, excess/obsolete). Track release adherence performance.

b) Prepare forecasts for GSP.

c) Prepare financial Inventory Plans and answer to monthly plan to actual variance.

d) Support improvement initiatives for both process logic and process performance topics.

d) In case of product supply shortages, develop mitigation strategies along side complete coverage analysis. Communicate transparent and up to date supply plans to internal stakeholders. Monitor execution of agreed plans. Decide on supply trade-offs in close cooperation with all Supply Chain Planning departments.

e) Create, monitor and respond to KPIs and Metrics

Transactional operations: 30%

a) Order Management and supplier relations: Create purchase orders (JDE materials without MRO) incl. Non-BOM items and SPM including interplant transfer orders for auxiliaries. Work with suppliers to coordinate/monitor deliveries, order confirmations, and issues. Check and expedite PO's. Work with logistics, quality receiving and inspection, and quality testing labs to ensure supply plans are feasible and met. Manage returns with the supplier, damage claims, missing information and/or product, and invoice discrepancies.

b) Assist in the balance of future capacity and workload for Warehouse, Inspection and Releasing activities based on future material deliveries

c) Identify and Support decisions regarding buildup of strategic inventory (at supplier or inhouse

Supplier management - life cycle: 20%

a) Issues management: Align with local GSP dpmt., SC site lead and internal stakeholders (SQ, R&I). Check and define impact on supply, escalation and communication to Global Sourcing and Procurement and other internal stakeholders. Actively participate/support QIT.

b) Support material qualification, SNC/SCAR actions, labeling changes (phase in and out), delivery performance data for the SPR Review process.

c) Support the on-boarding process of new materials.

Other: 10%

Maintain planning master data in the ERP and other planning related controlling/reporting systems. Projects Training May be required to perform additional duties as needed

Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

  • 0-3 years of Supply Chain or related experience

Preferred:

  • Typically requires a BA or BS in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, IT/Technical, Economics, Supply Chain or equivalent field or experience
  • Experience in planning and logistics in process-oriented business
  • Education, experience, and knowledge in biotechnological / pharma production processes and business is beneficial
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma philosophies
  • Understanding of APICS concepts production planning, materials planning, inventory management

Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Technical Aptitude:
    • ERP Systems Knowledge (JDE or equivalent)
    • Profound knowledge and ability to execute in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
    • Materials Requirements Planning (MRP). Understand the planning math, parameters, and data.
    • Understanding/Knowledge of Planning Systems - Aggregate Planning, Plant Scheduling, Shop Floor Planning, SC Distribution, etc.

  • Very good communication skills
    • English language mandatory
    • Ability to package messages in complete and simple presentations via email, powerpoint, or verbally.

  • Analytical and problem-solving competencies
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis using planning math, statistics, and data analytics
    • Break down complex issues into simple components
    • Build complex models and analysis starting with simple components
  • Team and results oriented
  • Works under time constraints that require creative thinking, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to map processes, identify potential gaps, solutions, pros and cons.
