Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Plating Lab Technician in our Lincoln, NE location. The Lab Technician is responsible for laboratory operations that support the Plating Line and Plating Processes. Assists in set up, testing, and maintaining of all parameters of the plating operations to ensure the highest levels of quality and productivity.

What do you get to do in this position?

  • Analyze all plating chemistry and determine chemical additions
  • Prepare regulatory lab report documentation and other required lab documents
  • Operate all lab equipment on a daily basis
  • Perform titrations to support the plating department
  • Assist with the ordering and upkeep of lab supplies to ensure all safety regulations, policies, and procedures are in compliance
  • Complete process audits of the plating lines
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work area
  • Responsible for the management of hazardous wastes
  • Maintains occupational, health, and environmental reports/documents that comply with applicable regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Audits established programs and procedures to ensure compliance with Corporate/Plant Policies and Procedures
  • Develops and prepares reports of findings with recommendations for corrective action
  • Maintain Occupational Health, Environment ISO45001 standards
  • Perform a variety of laboratory work in operating and maintaining measuring apparatus necessary to determine the level of chemicals and other monitoring equipment.

This job might be for you if:

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent is required. Bachelors of Science Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred
  • Certified in Industrial III level wastewater treatment facility operator for the State of Nebraska or receive certification within 12 months of hire date.
  • Previous work in accordance to ISO45001 standards
  • Strong math and mechanical aptitude required
  • Must possess language skills/abilities to effectively write reports, business correspondence and procedures
  • Understand and execute routine written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
  • Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work around chemicals, hazardous waste and all types of equipment safely
  • Visual requirements to perform safety inspections, monitor chemicals, provide training, create powerpoints, etc

Preferred Knowledge / Experience:
  • Experience with plating (Ni, Sn, Zn) and waste water treatment or equivalent chemical experience is preferred
  • Experience in the electroplating process is preferred
  • Experience in production or a manufacturing environment is preferred
