Summary of Job:

This position is responsible to perform supervision for our Facility Service Plumbing Technicians and Helpers. Supervisor will be responsible for serving each technician by leading through positive and genuine examples. This position will utilize our technology, technical capability, and customer service to provide support for each installation technician and helper to allow great customer experience on every service call. Primarily responsible for supporting installation technicians and helpers in installations, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: faucets, plumbing fixtures, water heaters, sump and sewage pumps, booster pumps, backflow preventers, and all materials of pipes valves fittings. This position will be responsible for reviewing all service reports and service tickets weekly. Will keeps up with and helps with scheduling of PM Service calls. Additionally, this position will communicate and resolve any questions or concerns from customers regarding service calls or maintenance related issues.

Essential Duties and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Supervise and directs a group of helpers/technicians in the performance of their job both technically and administratively. This will be accomplished through direct supervision and intentional leadership
  • Mentoring and training of helpers/technicians; provides coaching and develops/tracks performance improvement plans as necessary
  • Makes hiring and termination decisions with manager; conducts interviews
  • Performance audits of helpers/technicians in the field; safety, customer service, technical, quality
  • Performance review of personnel; identifies needed trade training
  • Responsible for leading service technicians in all aspects of operations and installation projects.
  • Coordinates, supervises and assists in all installation plumbing projects.
  • Performs skilled and semi-skilled plumbing work in the maintenance and installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Assigns workers to service call and projects as necessary by workload
  • Works closely with dispatch
    • Assure service calls are dispatched efficiently
    • Review status of open service calls
    • Training of service technicians to allow proper career path and growth
  • Meets with vendors and contractors to solicits bids on repair and replacement projects
  • Obtains needed supplies and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Performs administrative duties associated with work orders and scheduling staff to ensure projects are completed.
  • Communicates with staff to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Evaluates staff in accordance with established policy.
  • Inspects and supervises sub-contractors on service calls and projects
  • Directs and performs a variety of repair or replacement functions related to plumbing, minor electrical work related to water heaters, wiring of pumps and motors, etc.
  • Ability to repair and replaces broken water and sewer lines Ability to clears sewer and drain lines, commodes, etc. Ability to maintains, trouble-shoots and repairs boiler systems
  • Directs and assists in the installation of boiler systems
  • Ability to repair and replaces hot water tanks, circulating pumps, etc. Ability to maintain equipment and supplies
  • Operates backhoe, trencher, and other equipment as needed
  • Transports equipment to job sites as needed
  • Maintains well and wastewater systems as needed
  • Provides assistance to other crews as needed
  • Responds to after hour emergencies if requested
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
  • Provide consistent remarkable customer service. Respond to daily Installation Technicians needs. Ability to assist/coach technicians to repair and/or service all major brands of equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to on-demand modifications.
  • Must uphold all safety standards
  • Must be able to handle stress and job demands
  • Must be able to cooperatively work with others

Education and Experience:

  • 5 years of Commercial Plumbing Service and/or Plumbing Installation Construction work.
  • Must have a Plumbing Apprenticeship certification, and at least six (6) months of trade-related work experience, OR
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.

Essential Technical Skills Required:

  • Plumbing Supervisor must have a complete understanding and have the ability to install, repair, adjust, maintain and troubleshoot the following equipment and plumbing systems:
  • DWV Plumbing System including PVC, Cast Iron, Copper, CPVC, Fusion, SDR, Mechanical and all associated fittings and connections to previous materials
  • Water Supply and distribution Systems including Copper, PVC, CPVC, Fusion/Thermoplastics, Ductile, PEX, Galvanized, Brass, PB/PE Plastic piping and all associated fittings and connections to previous materials
  • Water Heaters and Boilers
  • Water filtration
  • Plumbing Fixtures including Faucets, flush valves, backflow preventers

Essential Daily Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain a safe work environment at all times and use proper safety equipment.
  • Must maintain open communication with office and field technicians required for all needed service calls and projects
  • During and or at the end of each task complete all company provided electronic forms to the fullest extent possible
  • Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day.
  • Work closely with billing to obtain any documents and information required to allow invoicing of service calls.
  • Ensure all materials used for each task are listed properly on the company provided electronic forms.
  • Assist on job sites with other technicians as needed.
  • Answer all office calls, emails, and texts in a timely manner.
  • Check in as needed to ensure office dispatcher and/or service manager are aware of your status.
  • Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required.
  • Consult service manager or other applicable in times of uncertainty.

Essential Overall Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to build client confidence in company.
  • Provide information to management on training needs and courses of interest.
  • Responsible for the daily preparation of the parts and tools for each days activities.
  • Complete work in a timely and workman like manner.
  • Coordinate for the use of company tools and ensure they are returned to the office in a timely manner.
  • Participate in companywide internal meetings as required.
  • Maintain company tools in a professional manner.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to drive to local job sites on a daily basis
  • On-call and overtime hours as needed
  • Good hygiene and cleanliness is required at all times
  • Must adhere to the company uniform policy.
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and make manager aware of maintenance issues
  • Follow rules and regulations as described in the company Handbook

Individuals may be exposed to: cramped work spaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day. Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently. The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places and /or hazardous equipment. May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
