As a Program Manager supporting to entire F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense & Risk Management Product Team, you will work as a partner with the product teams to craft and execute project plans to launch new products and features. You will help to build and enforce a repeatable process for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for our team and work closely with other program management groups to ensure were aligned with company-wide standards. Finally, you will maintain the holistic portfolio view of our products so that we have visibility into planned work and execution. In addition, flagging unplanned work and understanding how that impacts our long-term planning and execution.

The Position

In this critical role, youll lead the cross-functional delivery of strategic product initiatives across the XC Bot and Risk Management division of F5. As a Portfolio Program Manager, youll work directly with these teams to encourage the use of repeatable processes for the full SDLC (from business case ideation to GTM/product launch):

This requires being embedded into product teams to serve as a source of friction-reduction and steady execution. Youll unblock other Product Managers to help them as they interact with other teams. Youll also own the divisions product portfolio, ensuring were meeting our planned roadmap timelines and delivering what our customers need. This requires strong coordination across product suites to create a single holistic vision of our products.

Strong focus will be on two critical initiatives: reliability/predictability and visibility. For predictability, we must ensure that we can accomplish what we say we are going to do and then track our progress against milestones. For visibility, we need a holistic view of our products, a mechanism to track them against our milestones, and then effective communication of that information to leadership, sales, and our customers to build confidence in our ability to deliver on time and in scope.

What Youll Do

  • You are responsible for managing and leveraging the life cycle of investments, initiatives, programs, projects, and outcomes to optimally achieve enterprise goals and objectives.
  • You will lead strategic alignment and technical delivery of company-wide initiatives partnering with stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • You will manage the day-to-day operations of the portfolio and establish the working plan of each project phase.
  • You will contribute to the establishment of a common set of practices, tools and templates for portfolio, program, and project-level management and ensure standards are being followed.
  • You will facilitate project review/retrospective and checkpoint meetings.
  • You will produce and analyze portfolio/project-level reports against key performance indicators and produce ad-hod program outputs such as presentations, data visualizations, and written summaries.
  • You will work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, Engineers, and partner teams to ensure frictionless, on-time delivery of customer-facing features and products. This can include GTM work and coordination.


The ideal candidate:

  • Has a strong understanding of Program Management and Product Management best practices, tools, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Has experience managing full product portfolios made up of 6+ product lines optimized for the financial and strategic goals ofour organization.
  • Has experience supporting programs from ideation to GTM execution.
  • Has experience working with all stakeholder groups to collaboratively execute complex projects and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical and business information clearly and effectively through informal and formal documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Is a master at reporting status updates that are timely, accurate, informative, and interesting. This includes data visualization and presentations for leadership.
  • Is detail oriented with a strong information architecture approach to organizing large amounts of information.
  • Has strong analytical skills and is a creative problem-solver who can leverage information from many sources to deliver complete, actionable plans and results, systems thinking.
  • Can think both strategically (Where are we going with this over the next 12 months?) and tactically (Whats needed to get this to the next release?).
  • As a generalist and outcomes owner, can fill any gap needed to deliver, including writing functional specs, project/release plans, roadmaps, and technical proposals.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on and independently in a fast-paced environment


  • 6+ years of experience in portfolio and program management and/or operations and staff function leadership roles. Has successful track record leading multi-functional teams on product and service delivery.
  • PMO experience with strong track record developing and leading large-scale business and complex programs and projects aligned to KPI approach or value- based measures is an added plus
  • Experience with driving one or more large enterprise level programs (requiring large scale change management) within or outside of FM Global. Demonstrated track record of an effective change agent.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Experience with successfully implementing Scrum techniques with development teams. Scrum certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Aha!, or other issue tracking/project management tools is preferred.
