Position Overview

The Solution Manager role is a Product Management role owning the solution portfolio elements for all Self-Service Fleet Management Solutions within the Services Banking portfolio.

The Banking segment is in a cycle of rapid technological change. The nature of the technology and infrastructure required to deliver an ever increasing mix of complex applications, mobile solutions and business process outcomes require us to step outside of our traditional outsourcing Services and look to find new and enhanced ways to delight our customers and address their pain-points whilst increasing our wallet-share and making our relationship more 'Sticky'

You are responsible for

  • Define the vision and the customer need - own and drive the customer working backwards strategy, tenets and long-term goals
    • Using customer and market feedback, competitive analysis and business metrics to inform direction
  • Own the one-to-two year vision for the Banking Self-Service Fleet Management portfolio, including making decisions regarding where we prioritize our efforts
  • Ensure implementation and delivery is aligned with Portfolio Solution goals and requirements; making necessary adjustments with Stakeholders where needed
  • Develop Go To Market (GTM) plan and deliver results that ensure the customer and business goals are met in operational launch plans
  • Leverage data analysis skills to research difficult or ambiguous problems, leading cross-disciplinary teams where necessary and communicating recommendations to senior leadership
  • New Concept / Solution Development, Innovation and Business Case to support Development investments
  • Development of the offer suite incl:
    • Analysis of market and competitors to drive positive offer differentiation
    • Service description
    • Contractual terms
    • Backed off service delivery commitment and costing with service group
      • Ensuring delivery capability across both our own Hardware / Software but also wherever possible across other OEM equipment (multi-vendor capability)
    • Production (by others) of Global (Value based) Target pricing and determination of Solution gross margin aspiration
    • Production of service description, sales enablement materials and winning value-proposition
    • Ownership of marketing communications incl DieboldNixdorf.com web content
  • Detailed Design and Requirements management
  • Ensuring all Solutions, new and existing, have met criteria to be 'Sales Ready' & 'Revenue Ready'.
  • Customer Test and Launch of new Solutions.
  • Support to Sales with market intelligence, bundling offers and Campaigns to drive Sales revenue growth.
  • Understanding needs of integrated Solution packages, such as ATMaaS or bundled Managed Services offerings - ensuring all Maintenance & Availability Solutions are fit for purpose as both individual, uniquely sold offerings but also as a constituent parts of a broader integrated solution set.
  • Supporting large Implementation opportunities working with the R3 Solution Architect community to provide subject matter expertise to differentiate our response and position Deal teams for success.
  • Retiring obsolete or un-profitable portfolio Solutions where necessary


  • Experience of working within a service provider of managed services to the Banking industry or within a Banks Technology and Operations team in an operational role
  • Knowledge and exposure to a range of Banking technology infrastructure including branch and remote site Self-Service terminal devices, cash automation, handheld/mobile devices.
  • Knowledge and exposure to range of added value services for Bankers relating to applications, data and operational business processes
  • Understanding of Banking business processes relating to customer engagement, both on site and in the context of digital and omni-channel customer-journeys.
  • Product Management experience essential
    • Requirements gathering and evaluation
    • Defining and launching a global service - ideally from a shared services model
    • Defining services and ensuring that they can be deployed
  • Knowledge and understanding of payment systems including digital Transaction Processing.
