POWER SYSTEMS OM TECHNICIAN II: Position will service, diagnose and repair Industrial Generator and switch gear at customer locations. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform necessary OM services and repairs on all makes and models of Generators and transfer switches.

  • Perform periodic maintenance on scheduled equipment, including running tests on equipment in an electrically energized environment.

  • Determine correct parts needed to complete tasks and order in a timely manner from the Parts Department, as well as returning all unused parts in a timely manner.

  • Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and co-workers.

  • Prepare required documentation accurately, legibly and timely, including work orders, parts lists, time cards, expense reports and service reports.

  • Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equipment and product technology.

  • Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks, and maintain assigned company tools in good, safe working condition.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules.

  • Maintain the assigned service vehicle, including regular servicing and regular cleaning.

  • Attend service meetings, training classes and schools as required.

  • Collect customer payments on cash sales and promptly submit cash and paper work to the Finance Department.

  • Act as a spokesperson for the company, encourage customers to use Pape Power Systems and the subsidiary companies for their equipment, service and parts needs.

  • Maintain driving record in accordance with state laws and in a courteous, safe manner.

Applicants must have military training, technical school training or 2 plus years related experience servicing and repairing electrical generator and switch gear systems. Computer proficiency and experience with Excel and Word required. Communication skills, both oral and written, must be above average. Must have excellent attention to detail and follow through on jobs. Requires travel, sometimes for extended distances, as well as some overnight travel. Must have the ability to be on call every 6 weeks. Drivers license with a good driving record required.
