The Principal Analytics Data Platform Technologist is responsible for a set of analytics data platforms including snowflake, Oracle, Cloudera, and HANA. The technologist works with other members of the Data and Analytics teams to assess, implement, operate, and optimize a set of platforms/technologies. This role is critical to the success of the data and analytics capabilities at Medtronic.

Working in a fast-paced environment consisting of cloud, on prem, and hybrid solutions the technologist will assess, recommend, and execute on a variety of data and analytics projects. Activities cover the full lifecycle of a platform from inception/proof of concept to implementation, upgrades, and retirement. May work as technical lead for platforms on large scale programs/initiatives. Partners with data and analytics teams and enterprise architects to assure that platform strategies and operations are executed following Medtronic's Information technology standards and guidelines.

Engage in the full lifecycle of a data and analytics platform. From proof of concept, to implementation and operation, to upgrades and retirement.
Assess integrations between various data and analytic platforms, cloud to cloud, cloud to on prem and with enterprise services such as IAM, Cloud Operations and others.
Provides input to business capability models, assessments, roadmaps, and architectural design for data and analytics platforms
Collaborates with Data and analytics delivery teams on the implementation of platforms, new capabilities, and operational run of data and analytics systems.
Partners with D&A architects to set standards and guidelines for use of analytics data platforms and associated technologies.
Provides technical oversight and leadership to managed service provider teams.
Technical lead for upgrades, implementations, and rollout of new versions, features, and tools.
Proactively engages with Medtronic business and Global IT partners to identify and define opportunities where the application of information technology can advance the strategic goals and objectives of Medtronic
Consults with business and technology development projects to fit systems and desired information outcomes to business capability needs and identify when it is necessary to modify the platform or solution to meet project needs.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience
Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience or advanced degree and 5+ years of experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
Previous Medtronic experience
Work experience in the Medical Device Industry, or other regulated industry
5+ years of experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Cloudera, Oracle, HANA
Demonstrated experience with cloud-based solution on the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, IAM, KMS, AWS Networking, EKS, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora)
Experience with tools such as airflow, Git, and Continuous Integration/Continuous deployment (CI/CD)
5+ years of experience working with analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Business Objects, ThoughtSpot, Dataiku
Demonstrated experience as a platform/technical leader in full lifecycle management of data and analytic platforms from conception/pilot through run to retirement
Demonstrated experience deploying analytic platforms, working with enterprise IT organizations such as IAM, Cloud operations, and traditional infrastructure
Experience working in an on/offshore model leveraging vendors partners for support operations and project execution
Experience with ETL tools/platforms such as Informatica PowerCenter/IICS, Qlik replicate, IRS
Experience with Cloud, on prem, and hybrid application architectures
3+ years of experience working with large enterprise systems & solutions
High degree of 'learning agility' with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills
Broad knowledge of data analysis/database design technologies/tools in an operational environment
