What we do:

The Federal Reserve Bank seeks a Product Analyst who brings strategy, innovation, and product expertise to solve problems that matter to all segments of society served by central banks and the financial system. We expect to contribute to a global strategy to foster international collaboration on innovative financial technology within the central banking community to improve the functioning and efficiency of the international financial system, as well coalescing effort across the Federal Reserve System.

The New York Innovation Center (NYIC) bridges the worlds of finance, technology, and innovation. Through technical research, experimentation, and prototyping, our team generates insights into high-value central bank-related opportunities, enabling stakeholders and the central bank community to enhance the functioning of the global financial system. Housed within the New York Fed, we collaborate with the Federal Reserve System, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Innovation Hub, academia, and the private sector.

NYIC goals include to (i) identify and develop in-depth insights into critical trends in financial technology of relevance to central banks, (ii) explore the development of public goods to enhance the functioning of the global financial system, and (iii) serve as a focal point for a network of central bank experts on innovation.

The NYIC drives innovation through an intensive system and methodology designed to generate tangible value for the central bank ecosystem. The system incorporates the principles of corporate innovation, a disciplined portfolio management model and rigorous validation and experimentation of opportunities to generate high value insight. You will work alongside a team of architects, UX designers, engineers, product managers, and strategists with common goals towards leading product and service innovation, while evangelizing modern and agile ways of working to develop a center-of-excellence within the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The role will report to the Director of the NYIC.

Your role as Product Analyst - New York Innovation Center:

  • Support the coordination and execution of impactful initiatives; make recommendations, exercising professional judgment, initiative, and leadership while collaborating on program, operational, and management activities for the group.
  • Support the design and execution of our innovation strategy and methodology.
  • Manage internal and external relationships and vendor resources to ensure the technical research process delivers high impact insights effectively and efficiently.
  • Being current with emerging trends to increase depth and breadth of knowledge and its application in areas critical to the central bank community.
  • Develop and cultivate networks among central bankers, academic communities, public interest groups, and the private sector with a focus on digital innovation and its application to the financial system.
  • Share learnings from NYIC program initiatives throughout the Federal Reserve System, with BIS Innovation Hubs and the central bank community in collaboration with our Communications team.
  • Convene industry leaders in financial innovation through the New York Feds Innovation Advisory Council and other forums.

  • Technical Aptitude Knowledge across a range of emerging technologies.

  • Communication - Exceptional oral and written communication with the ability to effectively convey complex issues to a variety of stakeholders; exceptional leadership presence that elicits confidence and credibility (experience with authoring and editing documentation).

Salary Range: $124300 - $155400 / year
