Product Operations Lead - Plasma Derived Therapies

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

Single Point of Contacts to GMSGQ TET, TET1, engages subject matter experts to accelerate responses, manages stakeholders on emerging issues, escalation and communications.

Translates commercial and portfolio/product strategy into manufacturing operations strategy.

Develops product operational priorities in partnership with Global R&D, Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPuLSE) leadership, Marketed Product Group (MPG) leadership, GMS leadership, and or Business Unit leadership.

Establishes and leads a GMSGQ Product Team to direct operational life-cycle management alignment for Takedas products including routine/regular tactical meetings, routine dashboarding

Provides transparent communication between extended GPuLSe leadership, the Market Products Group or Business Units and extended GMS leadership on significant GMS or Brand accomplishments

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Accountable for End-to-End ownership of supply situation, collaboratively addressing significant issues escalated to/flagged by the POL and GMSGQ Product Team eg Supply Distribution Notification (SDN) mitigation, and resolution
  • Drives targeted product strategy and key tactical decisions collaboratively with colleagues in GMS and Operating Units (OpU).
  • Ensures brand strategies are executable from a global Supply perspective with an emphasis on meeting defined quality, compliance, financial, and customer service expectations.
  • Represents portfolio strategy in the creation and maintenance of supply network strategies and long-range capacity planning.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive global Product Strategy Plan in conjunction with Commercial and R&D (includes Clinical and other functions as appropriate). This plan will be reviewed and updated at regular intervals based on market potential, competition, financial and network capacity drivers, at minimum, annually.
  • Provides transparent communication between extended GPuLSe leadership, the Market Products Group or Business Units, and extended GMS leadership on significant GMS or Brand accomplishments and/or challenges. Uses existing governance forums or develops ad-hoc approaches, as necessary, to ensure transparency.
  • Crisis management and cross OpU/Region issue management coordination for challenges not resolved by a site, OpU, or Region, with impact on patient supply
  • Facilitates the prioritization of brand and product initiatives and develops corresponding strategies with Takedas GMSGQ teams to address priorities and challenges. Partners with brand leaders and business units on these initiatives.
  • Builds and leads a cross-functional Product Team. Facilitates the assessment of appropriate data required for assessing risk and making decisions on portfolio strategy, prioritization, and product improvement initiatives. Develops and presents full and robust business cases, based on product strategy imperatives to governance bodies (Manufacturing Supply Committee (MSC), OpU LT, GPT, Portfolio Review Committee (PRC), Commerical Launch Committee (CLC) for endorsement or approval. Product Lifecycle Management for Commercial Products.
  • Leads and drives risk assessments aimed at early identification of potential challenges and develop appropriately timed mitigations that fall within GMSs remit.
  • Leads large scale imperatives/programs beyond assigned products that result in positive change in how business is managed in central functions within GMS
  • Provides support to the Product Operations and SBE teams and Supply Chain where necessary e.g. budget, long-range plans, financial modeling for project justifications, due diligence activities, etc.
  • Owns the product value stream for the lifecycle of the product including all sourcing decision recommendations made to the MSC.
  • Partners with the Manufacturing sites and OpUs to drive cost improvement initiatives across the lifecycle of the product while meeting the long-term supply needs of our patients.

  • Responsible for staying current on product-specific technologies, changing business and competitive landscapes.
  • An understanding of Product Development and device development, digital health advances, and how these can be considered in the context of lifecycle planning.

High complexity management in the form of technologies, supply chain, organization, governance, product portfolios, changing external environment, and cultural/language considerations.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS:

Essential: B.S. in engineering or biological sciences/pharmacy along with an MBA or relevant business experience. Minimum of 10 years experience in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or associated industry required with prior program/project management responsibility. Demonstrated application of advanced planning skills critical. Previous experience with direct and regular interaction with all support functions: Quality, Process Development, Regulatory Affairs, Operations Supply Chain, etc. Excellent communication and influencing skills are a must.

Desired: Advanced degree and technical knowledge.
