As the Product Strategy Lead-Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) working in Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS), Takedas Global Commercial Strategy unit, you will be empowered to be an integral part of this mission and is critically important to our success.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Brand and growth Championship: Accountable for the continuation of a comprehensive commercial launch strategy and lifecycle plan for Takhzyro, Cinryze and Firazyr across all functions. Accountable for the successful growth of the assets on a global level by leading the Global Program Team (GPT) as well as on the Regional/ LOC level in collaboration with the Regions and strategic Local Operating Companies (LOCs). Continuously ensure a clear value proposition for the products that maximize the benefit to patients, payers, prescribers, providers, and policymakers and therefore the portfolios value through the development of the molecule strategy and ensure the aligned implementation across the functions through effective communication, influencing, and timely identification of issues to make constructive solutions possible.

  • Brand/Portfolio Leadership: Lead the entire GPT (which includes representation from Commercial, Clinical Development, Global Medical Affairs, Global Regulatory Affairs, Global Manufacturing and Supply, and other functions as needed. Develop the overarching strategic direction for the HAE Area/Portfolio identifying both the internal and external opportunities and LCM strategies through the GPT and in collaboration with the Center for External Innovation (CEI) and the business development (BD) organization.

  • Team Leadership: Lead the team of Global Commercial and Global Brand Leads, ensuring their strong professional development and performance, while also effectively engaging and influencing the cross-functional team members in a matrix organization.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop a comprehensive growth strategy and lifecycle plan for Takhzyro across all functions. Ensure successful growth of the asset on a global level by leadership of the entire GPT as well as support at the Regional/LOC level in collaboration with the Regions and strategic LOCs. Lead growth strategies and activities in alignment with the Commercial & Launch Committee (CLC), CLC building blocks and incorporating the CLC strategic input.

  • Lead the commercial sub-team of Takhzyro GPT. Ensure product strategies are translated into clear goals and objectives for GPT members and sub-teams.

  • Ensure a successful geographic expansion and commercialization of Takhzyro through strong leadership and alignment of key global functions, including Commercial, Clinical Development, Global Medical Affairs, Global Regulatory Affairs, Global Manufacturing and Supply, and other functions as needed. Translate the global product strategies, plans and budget recommendations into concrete, aligned and co-created with the Regions deliverables: tools, programs, activities across multiple functions.

  • Establish and define a clear value proposition for the product that maximizes the benefit to patients, payers, prescribers, providers, and policymakers and therefore the portfolios value through the development of the molecule strategy and ensure the aligned implementation across the functions.

  • Work closely with Global Market Access, Global Medical Affairs and Global Economics and Outcomes research teams to enable the development of robust payer and health system value propositions ultimately enabling fast and broad access.

  • Lead the team of Global Commercial and Global Brand Leads, ensuring their strong professional development and performance, while also effectively engaging and aligning with the cross-functional team members in a matrix organization. Manage individual performance (objective setting, evaluation, and feedback) of both direct reports (Global Commercial and Global Brand Lead) and cross-functional GPT members. Identify issues and proactively address them with functional supervisor to enable uninterrupted support. Create a high performing team culture that inspires purpose driven performance and is aligned to Takedas values and P-T-R-B principles

  • Effectively engage the Regional/ strategic LOC counterparts to ensure a successful geographic expansion and commercialization of Takhzyro across the Regions and strategic LOCs. Bring the voice of the internal and external customers to ensure the value of Takhzyro is well defined and understood.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • MS/BS in science or business required; Advanced degree a plus (MBA, MSc,PhD)

  • 15+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience in commercial roles ideally across 2-3 markets/LOCs, Regional and/or global functions.

  • General knowledge of the US market and its dynamics is also desired

  • Track record of strong strategic thinking and business acumen coupled with effective implementation.

  • Agility to operate in a global environment with a demonstrated knowledge of key markets, in particular US, EUCAN, Japan and China.

  • Expertise in pharmaceutical marketing in highly specialized conditions (rare diseases or specialty) is highly desired

  • Experience in working across the whole lifecycle of the products (from early research thru commercialization) as well as deep insights into the drug development process, lifecycle management, including clinical development, pricing and market access dynamics, regulatory and technical requirements and effective commercialization is highly desired

  • Experience in effectively leading, motivating and inspiring commercial teams operating at a global level; ability to create a strong follow ship.

  • Experience in leading Global Product Teams

  • Ability to lead across a matrix organization and to integrate cross-functional thinking into a clear strategy; matrix decision making acumen

  • Ability to anticipate issues and problem solve as well as to effectively prioritize and de-prioritize key areas; anticipate and scenario plan

  • Enterprise level leadership thinking with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and stakeholders, drive results and create follow ship

  • Ability to simplify complex information and complex situation AND effectively communicate a focus on a few, most important, priorities

  • Proactive, driven, pragmatic and hands-on

  • Strong communication skills, able to persuasively convey both ideas and data, verbally and in writing

  • Experience advising senior level executives

  • Situational, cultural, intellectual and behavioral agility

  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions, regions and cultures

  • Proven skills as an effective team player who can engender credibility and confidence within and outside the company

  • Embraces and demonstrates a diversity and inclusion mindset and role models these behaviors for the organization

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact externally and internally to support the asset/ portfolio

  • Ability to communicate with impact in a global, culturally diverse environment

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • International travel to internal meetings and external events is required
