Nemours Children's Hospital - Delaware (previously Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children) invites applicants for a full-time psychologist position within the Department of Psychology for the Consultation/Liaison (C/L) Service.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program.
  • Internship training from an APA-accredited program in clinical child or pediatric psychology.
  • Post-doctoral fellowship training in clinical child or pediatric psychology.

  • Applicants with all levels of post-licensure experience will be considered, with a preference for candidates with a well-rounded experience in pediatric psychology, and robust as well as recent experience with inpatient medical settings.
  • Specific expertise in multicultural care to meet the needs of our most underserved families in our community
  • Experience in infant mental health, addressing racial disparities in maternal and infant mortality, early childhood development screening, family systems, and working in multidisciplinary teams is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills, highly valued.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in pediatric practice in medical settings, especially the critical care setting, including culturally humble evidence-based therapy modalities, crisis intervention, and risk assessment.
  • License-eligible in the state of Delaware.

We are seeking a psychologist with a strong background in program development and clinical service in acute medical settings. This psychologist will serve our growing NICU and PICU C/L services. The psychologist will be part of both the NICU and PICU interdisciplinary teams and will provide direct clinical care to critically ill infants, children, adolescents, and their families on these units. Program development will be one of the key responsibilities of this position, with particular attention to the development of new program initiatives to support family participation in patients' medical and developmental care and to support follow-up services in both areas.

In addition, this position will support our general C/L services by serving as a primary preceptor of our Psychology residents and fellows who rotate through this service. Teaching, training, and mentoring are core values in our division and these efforts are supported and encouraged. In addition, there will be opportunities for quality improvement and research initiatives. Academic appointments through Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University are expected and supported.
