Quality Assurance director, part of the QA competency center, manages a Quality Assurance group for the North American Persoal Lines Insurance Platform (NAPCIP). Actively participates in the Global Sapiens Quality Leadership Team (QLT), takes responsibility for Quality Initiatives completion in North America. Implements Sapiens' Quality methodologies and enforces high quality compliance in North America. Manages all projects test teams throughout the project life cycle, and responsible from the overall quality starting from each project's design through the successful production implementation. Proactively communicates and assesses the impact of changes in the projects, while coordinating and interacting with all relevant parties (e.g. Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and Customers).

Main responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain the test strategy and the project quality plans
  • Ensure the testing and the development processes are aligned with the test strategy and the testing is executed with enough test coverage to meet or exceed quality expectations
  • Maintain and continuously improve the quality of the test coverage, processes and the accuracy of defect evidence and system performance
  • Work with development leads to ensure testing environments are correctly prepared and identify and resolve important/blocking bugs expeditiously
  • Work with the business analyst team to ensure Business Requirements and Functional Specifications are clearly understood in order to develop Testing plans and scenarios for System and End-to-End testing.
  • Guide, lead and mentor the QA Engineers. Assign tasks and monitor progress.

Required Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing big QA teams in a software product company
  • At least 5 years of experience in software QA and testing
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent
  • Experience with management of QA life cycle and QA methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in the financial/insurance market - preferred
  • Experience with executing user acceptance tests - preferred
  • ISTQB QA managers certification - preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer facing skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a group while handling projects
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives across different projects
  • Ability to manage multiple streams and customers' demands simultaneously and under pressure
  • Ability to work well with executives
  • Ability to meet aggressive timelines and motivate the team to meet the project deadlines
