Quality Assurance Inspector

Ultramet is looking for an entry level QA Inspector who has experience performing duties equivalent to a Quality Assurance Inspector, including in-process visual and microscopic inspection procedures using gauges and instruments in conformance with the Quality Management System.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform RVC density inspection by weighing and measuring dimensions of material puck sample and final block material

• Use microscope and tool makers microscope to inspect pore per inch (PPI), ligaments thickness, cell diameter, and aspect ratio of cells
• Post data to final inspection report
• Perform visual (microscopic) inspections on incoming raw material
• Perform visual (microscopic) final inspections
• Perform dimensional inspection on tubes, crucibles, and free-standing shape parts.
• Complete inspections reports
• Writes Nonconformance reports, if applicable

This is an entry level position, and reports to the Quality Lead Inspector and the QA Manager.

Required Skills:

• High School diploma or its equivalent
• Communicate well, verbally and in writing, and follow verbal instructions
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as: Micrometer, caliper, height gauge precision ruler at an immediate level.
• Has some knowledge of shop math and Geometry, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Has clear handwriting and recording skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 1 to 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance background or in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use toolmaker’s microscope and optical microscope at an intermediate level
• Mid-level experience in dimensional inspection.
