Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented Recovery Program Manager to join our team! The Recovery Program Managers Role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. This individual will supervise other Recovery Support Specialists as well as serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. They must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Responsible for leading a team of Recovery Support Specialists

  • Provide recovery education to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance

  • Provide a model for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible.

  • Assist recovering persons to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery.

  • Actively identify and support linkages to community resources that support the recovering persons goals and interests.

  • Support connections to community based, mutual self-help groups. Link individuals to appropriate professional resources when needed. Provide vision-driven hope and encouragement for opportunities at varying levels of involvement in community-based activities (e.g., work, school, relationships, physical activity, self-directed hobbies, etc.).

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, Required

  • Must have worked at least 12 months of relevant work or voluntary experience

  • Must have a current Recovery Specialist Certification.

  • Individual must have an understanding of and respect for each individuals unique path to recovery.

  • Must have a working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system and a demonstrated commitment to the recovery community

  • Travel to other locations beyond the assigned work location is occasionally required.
