ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work closely with agencies (Intertek, UL, CSA, etc.) to secure and maintain agency certification and approval on RIDGID products as assigned, including Witness testing. Coordinate obtaining documentation and material from the teams and subsequent testing. Evaluate products for compliance and self-certification. Assist with agency factory inspections.
  • Manage Ridge Tool substance compliance initiatives (such as REACH, ROHS, WEEE, California Proposition 65, etc.) as assigned. Collect information from team and suppliers, analyze and confirm compliance. Track and answer customer requests for substance compliance information. Work with teams to develop compliant products and update existing products as needed.
  • Create and maintain compliance documentation for Ridge Tool products, including CE technical files, material compliance documentation, product markings, etc. Create, run and document testing.
  • Design, construct, operate and maintain equipment and automated tests involving electromechanical, hydro-mechanical, computerized data acquisition and controls, process measuring instrumentation and test fixtures. Suggest and implement equipment, procedures improvements as needed.
  • Assist Product Engineering and other departments in investigating and answering questions related to the design, testing, development, and performance of new, existing, and competitive products.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or other appropriate Engineering discipline from an accredited school
  • Experience in design, construction, and operation of electrical/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic test equipment
  • Applicable product design experience will be considered in place of agency / test experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • ReguProgramming computers or automated equipment, ladder logic, Lab View or similar programming experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret standards, legislation, regulations, technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries from internal and external customers, regulatory and governmental agencies. Ability to effectively organize, present and communicate information to management, teams, and approval agencies.

Preferred Requirements

  • Three (3) years experience working with agency approvals and inspections
  • Three (3) years experience in testing electromechanical products
