We are hiring immediately for a Full Time Research Coordinator to join the UTHealth School of Public Health- Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research in Houston, TX. All for Them is a multicomponent program which aims to increase HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas (MUAs) across Texas. The Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research has received funding to expand All for Them to middle schools in Aldine ISD (Houston, TX). Project activities include adaptation and delivery of a social marketing campaign aimed at English and Spanish speaking parents, delivery of school-based vaccination clinics at participating AISD middle schools, and school nurse education to improve communication with parents about HPV vaccination.

Position Summary:

All for Them is a multilevel, multicomponent program which aims to increase HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas (MUAs) across Texas. The Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research has received funding to expand All for Them to middle schools in Aldine ISD (Houston, TX). Project activities include adaptation and delivery of a social marketing campaign aimed at English and Spanish speaking parents, delivery of school-based vaccination clinics at participating AISD middle schools, and school nurse education to improve communication with parents about HPV vaccination.

Under general direction of senior research staff, the Research Coordinator I will conduct activities to support the research project. This position is located in Houston, TX.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the day-to-day project management coordination.
  • Serve as liaison to Aldine Independent School District and healthcare provider partners Texas Children's Mobile Clinic Program, Memorial Hermann Health Centers for Schools, and CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics to ensure that all activities related to vaccination clinics run according to plan. Tasks include regular and clear communication with providers, district partners, and school contacts to coordinate scheduling and prepare for school-based vaccination clinics.
  • Assist with intervention planning and development, including translation of Spanish-language messages.
  • Participate in implementation of mobile vaccination clinic activities, including clinic preparation. Weekly travel within greater Houston area is required (must have reliable transportation).
  • Assist with preparation of clinic related materials, message delivery, and data collection activities.
  • Manage phone call inquiries from parents and community members about project activities.
  • Provide vaccine education to parents. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for parent education/community events.
  • Assist in coordination of evaluation activities, including distribution and management of surveys.
  • Prepares evaluation reports as needed.
  • Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensures accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Prepares draft reports and communications for funding agency and key stakeholders, as needed.
  • Provides direction and guidance to other project staff regarding implementation activities, as needed.
  • Participates in weekly team meetings.
  • Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Preferred:
  • Advanced knowledge of concepts of public health research. Certification for Protection of Human Research Subjects must be completed within 5 days of employment

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or four years of experience in lieu of degree. Master's degree in related field preferred.

Minimum Experience Preferred:

  • Strongly prefer at least 4 years' experience with health promotion/education, community-based, and/or school-based public health research. Must have experience working within a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.Security Sensitive:This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.215
