The Department of Pathology is seeking a qualified candidate for the Research Technician/Research II position. The incumbent will work in an established laboratory, but under the direct supervision of a junior faculty Principle Investigator (PI) who studies the regulation of bone turnover and the mechanisms by which bone is deposited and resorbed. Experimental work to be performed will include human, mouse, and rabbit models including culturing mesenchymal stem cells, which differentiate into bone-forming osteoblasts, and monocytes, which differentiate into macrophages and osteoclasts, breeding mice, injections, and collecting tissue samples from mice and rabbits, molecular biology, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry and bone morphometry while working closely with the junior faculty PI. Responsibility is also include keeping accurate records of all experiments in a lab notebook and electronically, Ordering supplies for experiments, preparation of solutions ahead of time and general lab maintenance.

Bachelors degree with 2-3 years of experience.
