Retail Pharmacy Technician

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Retail Pharmacy Technician. This role will be great for someone that has a passion for Pharmacy and great customer service for our patients we serve. This specific position will work from the Durham Outpatient Center (DOC) location in Omaha, NE.

Those with a current Nebraska pharmacy technician registration are highly preferred.

  • Full Time and benefits eligible (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week)
  • Monday - Friday variable days and hours between 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Prepares and dispenses medication upon receiving prescription from prescribers and processes all related duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand held calculator required.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required.
  • Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Work experience which demonstrates analytical ability, judgment, and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.
  • College coursework in pharmacy preferred.
  • Ability to type 20 wpm (with error correction) preferred.
