Schaeffler , a dynamic global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Return Parts AnalysisTechnician at our State of the Art North American Automotive Center in Troy, MI. The Return Parts Analysis Technician supports the Schaeffler Product Development groups with Return Part Analysis (RPA) and testing in the North American Automotive Center in order to guarantee quality products for Schaeffler Group USA customers.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to :

• Perform testing/measurement/analysis to procedures and/or work instructions
• Assist in Return Parts Analysis workflow planning and estimating of cost and timing for testing/measurement/analysis
• Assist RPA and Development Engineers to improve current procedures and to develop new procedures when/where applicable
• Manage portfolio of tasks or work assignments and proactively communicate with RPA Engineering and Group Leader as conflicts arise or timing constraints cannot be met

Qualified candidates will have:

• Minimum High School Diploma and 3 years experience as an automotive related technician, or Associate degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent degree
• Machine shop experience preferred
• Good knowledge of automotive engines and subsystems
• Good mechanical understanding
• Familiarity and ability to use of cameras/microscopes, common measurement equipment such as dial indicators, gage blocks, thermocouples, displacement/pressure/flow transducers, etc
• Understanding and ability to interpret technical drawings
• Basic technical writing skill for reports, in addition to excellent planning & organization skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
