Responsibilities

Security Lead is responsible for ensuring internal contractor processes are compliant with VA security standards

Prerequisites:
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Access, experience in relational data base design, extract, and reporting, Excel, and the Internet
Strong proven analytical ability
Proven Ability to work with a variety of systems, sources of data and detection, monitoring and analytic tools
Excellent organizational and communication skills

Essential Functions:
Ability to serve as the liaison for any Security Related Audits, including FISMA and ACT
Ability to facilitate and coordinate security related communication to SGS staff
Ability to provide support/direction for security related questions from SGS employees
Ability to maintain security related reports and internal control evaluation
Ability to monitor and review security audit logs
Ability to maintain and prepare Security Deliverables for client
Ability to support SSO as needed
Ability to analyze security data to identify and compare norms, trends and patterns.
Ability to present issues of concern, citing regulatory, policy or contractual violations.
Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally
Ability to report work activity on a timely basis.
Ability to handle confidential material.
Ability to attend meetings, training and conferences, overnight travel required in some instances.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to deliver high quality work


Qualifications

A minimum of eight (8) years experience serving in information assurance positions ensuring compliance with Privacy Act, HIPPA or similar compliance requirements.
Bachelors degree required
ISC2 certification preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Exemplary customer service skills including the ability to identify needs, provide prompt response, and exercise patience, respect and professionalism in all interactions
Ability to handle confidential material
Ability to efficiently respond in a calm and effective manner to a variety of demands and projects
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to deliver high quality work Must be able to obtain NACI
