The Senior Director, Global Market Research will be accountable for the global and regional market research across all Commercial programs and therapeutic areas (3 brands and therapeutic areas). S/he will be a key member of the Global Insights & Analytics Team.

This position is located in Cambridge, MA.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a best-in-class global market research function for all 3 therapeutic areas and brands
  • Drive the use of the leading tools and techniques in Market Research
  • Develop and integrate primary market research within Commercial, including foundational strategic research (e.g. market landscape / patient journey, segmentation / brand positioning / messaging, market access landscape)
  • Act as a strategic partner and collaborate closely with other Insights & Analytics Leads and Global Commercial leadership
  • Design and deliver market research projects that support the growth of key global brands
  • Respond flexibly and adaptively to the needs of the organization through a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry including leadership within a Global Market Insights or Market Research function
  • Proven record of carrying an enterprise-wide view
  • Proven success in building and leading top tier teams
  • Deep expertise in Market Research
  • Experience with the technology and tools used to manage the above
  • Deep expertise in Global Commercial
  • Senior stakeholder management experience
  • Confidence and ability to present complex information concisely and effectively to all audiences, including senior leaders and groups
  • Ability to understand business process and break down business questions into specific, tangible hypotheses and requirements to guide analysis
  • Experience leading teams and individuals; ability to maintain strong cross-functional and cross-team ties to collaborate with colleagues outside direct reporting structure
  • Demonstrated ability to drive to deadlines, balancing multiple priorities, and ensuring quality standards
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills with strong ability to multi-task and shift focus as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical details to technical and non-technical resources. Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels and functions across the business.
  • If employed in the U.S., being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is required
