About the role:

The Sr. Financial Analyst will report directly to and be the chief of staff for the Business Unit Controller. The successful candidate will partner with BU functional leaders to ensure visibility of the businesss financial performance and drive decision making to improve results and meet and exceed strategic and annual objectives. This role will perform various finance and accounting tasks with direct impact on the financial performance of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in finance and will be a developmental role for positions of increased responsibility within the business or other businesses across the Arcosa portfolio.

What you'll do:

  • Provides expert analysis and evaluations on financial, accounting, cost and trend reports in order to improve the results of the organization

  • Performs balance sheet reconciliations and analysis

  • Acts as point of contact for Accounts Payable for the business

  • Provides financial reporting and variance analysis to the management team

  • Handles Ad hoc reporting for the BU Controller, BU VP & General Manger, and Continuous Improvement Teams, and other departments as needed

  • Supports forecasting and budgeting process as well as cost center controlling

  • Supports Month-end & ongoing reporting including Productivity, P&L, Balance Sheet, Headcount, Capital Expenditures (CAPEX, including capitalization of assets), Inventory, Reserves, Warranty, and Journal Entries

What you'll need:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in either Finance or Accounting

  • Experience in finance in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Solid understanding of Cost Accounting

  • Experience in Variance Analysis and Financial Reporting

  • Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel (V-lookups, Pivot tables, linked files, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint

  • High degree of accuracy and very detail oriented

  • In-depth understanding of Accounting/Finance concepts

  • Highly self-motivated

  • Demonstrated Leadership skills

  • Excellent communications skills, including the ability to provide data in a concise and appropriate manner

  • Strong learning agility; ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances

  • Effectively manages time and effort to achieve necessary tasks given shifting priorities

  • Continuous improvement mindset; pro-actively identifying opportunities to improve both process and/or the business

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase

  • 2-5 years experience in cost accounting analysis preferred

  • 2-5years yrs experience in variance analysis preferred

  • 2-5 years experience month end closing procedures preferred

  • Demonstrated inline promotions preferred
