What do you get to do in this position?

  • Responsible for creating Hardware requirements, design specifications, schematic design, simulation, PCB layout, component analysis, and selection.
  • Responsible for prototyping first articles for engineering evaluation, verification and validation, qualification, and release to manufacturing.
  • Create test requirement specifications, test procedures, and assist test engineers in developing a production test solution.
  • Support the Manufacturing division to ensure all Hardware products meet testability and manufacturability requirements as well as support the initial pilot run and ramp phase.
  • Assist manufacturing and customer service with sustaining activities.
  • Telecommuting is available for this position.

    This job might be for you if:

    This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and five years of work experience in complex hardware design in Industrial control, medical, aerospace, or military applications.

    Must have 5 years of work experience with:

  • Digital and analog circuit design including concepts and theory of operation of DC/DC converters, op-amps, ADC, DAC, FPGA, uP, uC, and PCB;
  • Functional safety concepts including understanding of SIL levels, failure rates (lamba), SFF, diagnostics and diagnostic coverage, redundancy, and methods of achieving various SIL levels;
  • 61508/26262 V model and design concepts including new product design and supporting legacy products involving understanding and implementation of the V-model and test tool verification;
  • Designing for EMI, EMC, and environmental levels set by Industrial control standards or similar ruggedized industry (Military, Medical, automotive); and
  • Designing for industrial environments and understanding of hardware design; and
  • Writing architecture, requirements, and detailed design documentation and new product design.
