Our Senior Internal Auditor will participate in executing a risk-based internal audit plan to evaluate and strengthen management and governance controls. With minimal supervision, participate in risk assessment processes; design and execute effective audit programs; perform internal audit and consulting engagements that encompass financial, operational, compliance, and/or information technology controls; document articulate and well-supported working papers; use leading practices to identify risk and related mitigation strategies; monitor management execution of risk mitigating action plans through follow-up procedures; write high quality value added audit reports; communicate effectively with team, management, and staff. Communicate progress and escalate concerns to the Internal Audit Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five or more years' experience in internal audit, healthcare regulatory, compliance, or public accounting required.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness operating in complex organizational environments required.
  • Bachelor's degree; Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance or related area required.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills required.
  • Strong project management skills required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare, healthcare regulations, laws and governmental compliance program guidance highly required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex and potentially sensitive issues to various levels of management required.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally handle confidential matters required.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interaction with aptitude to partner with management as a trusted advisor required.
  • Strategic thinking skills with business risk awareness and strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team required.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) OR Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional (CHIAP)(TM) OR Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and fraud and abuse laws preferred.
  • IT audit experience preferred.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related area preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with data mining/Audit Command Language (ACL) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Audivate or other electronic working papers preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPIC and/or Workday preferred.
