Responsibilities

  • Directs tactical execution of the design and lifecycle management of specific message architecture and solution positioning

  • Interfaces with peers across the organization to insure message alignment Solution Content, Tools and Methodology

  • Team leader for the design and lifecycle management of new, differentiated security products and solutions which solve customer problems aligned to Interconnection Oriented Architecture and reduce friction of product adoption

  • Recommends new partner solutions to market by utilizing analysis of requirements and partner capabilities; supporting product partnership delivery

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations SME

  • Utilizes SME knowledge in: AR & PR, Enterprise IT, and Vertical Industry to support account-based marketing , coaching team members, and knowledge transfer

  • Contributes towards security product strategy and go-to-market plan

  • Documents performance feedback and support team members in career development

  • Tracks and manages career progression of team and reviews with senior management

  • Provides leadership and direction to the team, through managers

  • Accountable for the performance and results of direct reports and maybe a larger or multiple teams

  • Responsible for: - succession planning - performance management of team members, including disciplinary actions and hire/fire decisions/ recommendations - GPS process including assessments and Total Rewards allocations of direct reports and reviewing and approving manager recommendations - talent development, including quarterly conversations, career pathways conversations and individual development/growth plans

  • Models the Equinix Culture and Values Resource and Budget Management

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan - that are agreed upon by upper management

  • Works closely across Marketing Project Managers to track resource allocation and utilization for portfolio projects

  • Works closely with Project Managers to track resource allocation and utilization for larger projects

  • Requests approvals for additional expenses outside of approved budget/headcount

  • Communicates budget estimates for cross functional projects/programs, and ensures teams execute assigned projects within approved budgets

  • Manages and/or escalates issues, as needed

  • Provides input to the annual budget planning process relating to project/support/SW maintenance/Renewals/purchases/etc. for his/her areas of responsibility Process/Policies/Standards

  • Defines and evangelizes processes, policies and standards across all stakeholders

  • Measures performance against process goals

  • Proactively seeks continuous improvement opportunities in process/ policies/ standards Functional Knowledge

  • Requires comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within own job family

  • Requires knowledge of other related job families

  • Applies in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within the organization sub-function and understands contribution to the organization function

  • Leads multiple related teams, sets area priorities and allocates resources

  • Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational and organizational problems

  • Requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information

  • Decisions impact the business results of area by supporting and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologies and developing policies and plans

  • Guided by organization sub-functional business plans

  • Leads and drives cross-organizational business and process improvements

  • Influences the opinions and decision-making of others internally at the executive level and externally with customers

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
