**Job Description:**



Participates in design, development and implementation of complex databases, often using new technologies. Viewed as the subject matter expert for the team. Manages multiple, moderately complex projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Computer Science degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience. Typically 7-10 years of IT experience.

**Overview:**



The MySQL Database Operations team provides System DBA services to the Enterprise across all the CTOs. It provides end to end Critical Production support and takes care of the MySQL Server infrastructure. The team handles the Event, Incident, Change and Problem management functions for the MySQL Server database infrastructure across the Enterprise. The MySQL Server build and configuration activities are also performed by the MySQL Operations team along with the Performance and Compliance functions thru an understanding of InnoDB clustering and MySQL replication.



**Responsibilities:**



+ Designing, developing, implanting, enhancing and supporting a number of projects

+ Supporting production systems

+ Performing the installation, configuration and upgrading of MySQL software and related products

+ Establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures

+ Planning growth and changes (capacity planning)

+ Working as part of a team and provide 8x5 support when required

+ Performing code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle

+ Communicating with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators



**Required Skills:**



+ 10 years + of DBA experience with designing, developing, implanting, enhancing and supporting a number of projects

+ Experience in implementing a MySQL High Availability

+ Experience in the Installation, configuration and upgrading of MySQL software and related products

+ Strong knowledge of InnoDB cluster and group replication

+ Experience on setting up Master/Master and Master/Slave design

+ Strong experience in performance tuning and trouble shooting

+ Experience establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures

+ Experience planning growth and changes (capacity planning)

+ A good understanding of the underlying operating system

+ Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle

+ Good communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators

+ Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines

+ Ability to handle pressure situations since team has got stringent SLAs

+ Understanding of the business needs

+ Exposure to Oracle Enterprise and MySQL Enterprise monitoring tools

+ Ability to work as part of a team and provide 8x5 support when required

+ Understanding of Golden Gate

+ Scripting/SQL skills

+ Foglight/MEM
