What we do:
The Financial Market Infrastructure Function (the Function) within the Supervision Group fosters financial stability through the supervision of financial market utilities (FMUs) that engage in systemically important payments, clearing, and settlement (PCS) activities. The Function also coordinates, oversees and conducts supervisory work when critical market infrastructures and supporting processes are undergoing complex, multi-year, structural transformations.

Your role as a Senior PCS & FMI Specialist:

The Senior PCS&FMI Specialist will support the work of the Coordination and Oversight of Market Infrastructure Transitions (COMIT) team. The COMIT team influences market reforms, policy development, and the supervision of various banking portfolios and the FMU portfolio through cross-portfolio projects related to market infrastructure changes. You will be responsible for leading various aspects and workstreams of these multi-year projects, and contribute to the development of cross-firm assessments, trends, themes and next steps as well as supervisory strategies for the projects.

  • Lead individual workstreams of cross-portfolio work, including firm specific coverage and cross-firm reviews.

  • Collaborate closely with examiners across Supervision and at other Reserve Banks on a variety of supervisory topics related to COMIT teams supervisory priorities.

  • Contribute to cross-firm perspectives in conjunction with colleagues and project lead.

  • Contribute to the development of supervisory work programs, for cross-portfolio multi-year projects.

  • Identify business trends to inform current project and potential future projects.

  • Prepare written memos, summaries and key takeaways of supervisory engagement to highlight trends, themes and present proposed next steps.

  • Present project and market developments to senior management including System-wide committees.

  • Stay abreast of developments in different markets, including money markets, fixed income markets, and other markets that impact supervisory firms across portfolios.

  • Strong collaboration skills, including possessing a flexible and positive attitude and pursuing effective working relationships.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to articulate and frame complex ideas, tailor communication appropriately to the audience, and articulate key messages to senior principals.

  • Familiarity with market infrastructure, government securities and/or money markets is a plus.
