Position Summary

As a Senior Product Owner (SR.PO), you are a key member of the Agile Scrum team and will represent both the customer and Product Managers to implement the product vision. As an SR PO, you will work closely with Product Management, the engineering team, and architects to define and prioritize features and stories, ensure alignment with customers and product vision, and improve the development process's value. Senior Product Owners help get the right things done!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Advocate the customer's voice to the Agile Scrum / Kanban teams, and articulate product expectations
  • Engage and participate in all Agile/Scrum ceremonies
  • Articulate and refine requirements/stories and define acceptance criteria in a manner understandable engineering team (e.g., INVEST)
  • Own, maintain and prioritize the agile product backlog
  • Defining and manage sprint and program increment goals and objectives with the team
  • Demonstrate products capabilities to internal F5 audiences
  • Identify and manage dependencies across Teams within the product/solution
  • Set business goals and customer expectations for Program Increments
  • Partner with Product Development and other partner teams to prepare for PI (Program Increment) planning and Big-Room Planning
  • Convene and lead technical discussions with engineering as part of articulating and refining requirements and improving understanding of engineering realities
  • Communicate trade-offs between customer expectations and engineering realities to Product Management partners and align on prioritization
  • Stay up-to-date on related industry trends and practices and constantly exchange ideas

Knowledge, Skills,and Abilities

  • Demonstrate effective team dynamics, conflict resolution, mentoring, and servant leadership skills
  • Proven work within SAFe or Agile methodology and utilizing agile practices
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, a positive teammate
  • Problem solver
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
  • Experience resolving issues with higher levels of management
  • Balance technical and business insight, communicating what is possible and what will have the biggest impact on business
  • Solid Understanding of building solutions in the modern environments, including Kubernetes, Cloud-native (AWS, GCP, Azure) with deep knowledge in HTTP, HTTP/2, gRPC, Web Sockets
  • Ability to stay on top of new technologies and drive innovation

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with modern development languages/tools/IDEs/DevOps tools/K8S/Networking protocols
  • Acting as an ambassador of the product capability
  • Demonstrated ability working in an Agile Scrum team developing solutions supporting sales, finance, or other internal support functions; SAFe experience is a plus
  • A B.An in Software Engineering, business management, or related fields; or equivalent experience
  • Proven record of translating business capability into features and stories
