Arcadis, the leading global Design & Consultancy firm for natural and built assets, is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager / PS&E Design Manager for our growing Infrastructure team in Texas. This position will be located in either Dallas or Houston, Texas.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the quality of civil engineering work performed, client service, utilization of staff, marketing, reputation of the office, contract management, billing collection, and project profitability for large urban freeway planning and engineering projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead project teams to accomplish task assignments related to schematic design for highway projects in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines
  • Performs work involving the preparation of roadway and highway design using local (State, County or City) or AASHTO standards
  • Project roles include PS&E development; urban and rural roadway design; freeway and interchange design; hydraulics and hydrology; signalization; rights of way coordination and management; and public safety
  • Full client engagement and responsibility for all aspects of the project; scope, schedule, design, quality, staff etc. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage all phases of a project
  • Develop opportunity leads, project teams and coordination with the Infrastructure Client Development team to capture strategic projects.
  • Develop project scopes and budgets, interfacing with and maintenance of clients, mentoring and development of junior staff and design/drafters, and development of project plans and schedules.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, development and growth of the Texas Transportation Operations' team.
  • Assist as needed on other projects assigned and work with other Arcadis offices as needed.
  • Adherence to Arcadis' practices including quality and safety standards.
  • Interpersonal and client facing responsibilities will include excellent, clear and concise, oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations.


Required Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of progressive highway (TxDOT) design experience which includes 6 years of PM experience on TxDOT projects,
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Texas PE licensure
  • Experience working in and leading large multi-disciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • 20 years of progressive highway (TxDOT) design experience 8 years of PM experience on TxDOT projects,
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience working on large TxDOT projects, Design-Build PM experience is a plus
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
