WHO YOU ARE


As the Quality Assurance Manager you will oversee the activities of the quality team, develop, implement and coordinate key quality initiatives to ensure requirements are met before product reaches our customers. You will lead efforts on Lean manufacturing & Six Sigma continuous improvement process and application of the Quality Management System. You will troubleshoot both internal and supplier's production issues and capabilities and participate in sourcing reviews and supplier audits.

In our ClosetMaid world Head Quarters in Ocala, FL. Mostly in an office environment.


WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Provide quality engineering support by evaluating, selecting and developing a supply base and assess new supplier technology. Reviews and audit supplier products, processes capabilities and/or systems performance.

  • Attend first production runs at suppliers sites; evaluate processes for their capability to consistently adhere to company's specifications.

  • Visit component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.

  • Develop corrective actions to address supplier quality non-conformances and warranty failures.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to ensure quality standards are in place and maintained.

  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Conduct quality process audits of plant processes, issues and tracks audit findings.

  • Assist Suppliers in deploying process management to bring process and product stability through improved process control and capability.

  • Monitor supplier issues from root cause to permanent corrective action (must have prior problem solving skills such as 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, Flowcharting, etc.)

  • Provide coaching and training, in process management, problem solving, data collection & analysis and statistical application.

  • Evaluate contents of reports from product management department heads and confers with management personnel regarding disposition of problems and agenda.

  • Confer with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.

  • Review technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry and country.

  • Manage all aspects of incoming receiving inspection program.

  • Promote team's building.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering -Mechanical/Industrial/Systems Engineering preferred

  • MBA a plus

  • 7+ years of related work experience

  • Responsible for ensuring that specified quality standards are met for all tasks completed.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black belt certification preferred
