Alnylam's leads the industry in revolutionary siRNA technology platform that modulates gene expression at the translation level and can reverse the course of genetically mediated diseases. Due to the unique PK and PD characteristics of this platform, modeling is one of the key drivers in decision making across clinical development space at Alnylam. The therapeutic areas are often rare disease indications and modeling approaches including disease progression, quantitative systems pharmacology, and literature-based meta analyses are routinely used to justify choice of endpoints and evaluate trial designs. We are looking for passionate modeler with strong technical, communication and problem solving skills to drive the pharmacometric strategy across the Alnylam portfolio.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Scoping program questions and developing modeling and simulation strategy for clinical programs.
  • Analysis and reporting of population pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic, exposure-response, and disease progression models.
  • Apply simulation methods to support dose selection, trial design, and Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Effectively partner with clinical, biostatistics, DMPK, health economics, and regulatory departments.
  • Participate in the preparation of reports/abstracts/manuscripts for publications and regulatory documents.


Education : Candidates with Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacometrics, biostatistics or related quantitative fields.

Experience : At least 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or regulatory agency. Experience representing application of pharmacometrics in drug development teams and hands-on modeling experience.

Special Skills/Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in R programming, and in non-linear mixed effects modeling software like NONMEM.
  • Good understanding of pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic principles and drug development
  • Experience with programming clinical data sets.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong statistical understanding of hierarchical modeling of longitudinal continuous and non-continuous data.
  • Understanding of application of Bayesian methods.
  • Application and development of systems pharmacology models.

Supervision: Motivated and collaborative individual who is a team player and can function independently with minimal supervision. Candidate should be able to multi-task and prioritize to provide timely pharmacometric support to help advance portfolio. Travel may occasionally be required.
