Senior Software Engineer, Tegra Solutions - Autonomous Vehicles

NVIDIA is hiring Software Engineers to validate automotive sensor models and vehicle models developed for our Simulator. This includes in the Lab and On-Road characterization of the physical sensors upon which these models are based. This role is critical for large-scale validation of an L4 vehicle fleet being built in collaboration with OEMs, and ecosystem partners and is part of our NVIDIA Constellation development team!
What you will be doing:
- You will be working closely with customers and ecosystem partners simulation teams to deliver state-of-the art simulation products and V&V workflows.
- Validating models and characterizing physical sensors, examples - Camera, Lidar, Radar, Ultrasound, Vehicle Dynamics, and IMU
- Measure and compare sensor performance in car on the test track and in simulation, build analytical tools, and create test methodology
- Collaborate freely across diverse automotive teams and take advantage of already developed tools and processes
- Hands on experimental design and data acquisition, with a view towards automation of repetitive tasks - both in Lab and on Test Track
- Collaborate with OEMs, tier-1 and tier-2 partners ensures that all aspects of the joint V&V development are carried out on time and according to plan.
What we need to see from you:
- You are proficient in C++ and Python with strong software development and debugging skills.
- Experience with physical simulation codes, particularly in the area of kinematics and dynamics
- Outstanding data analysis skills, ability to communication and clearly present one's ideas, and able to work as a team
- BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience
- Comfortable developing with Linux & Git
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Experience with physical sensors, especially automotive and perception based
- Proven automotive industry experiences with vehicle ECUs, CAN, LIN, Flexray, GMSL, FPDLink, Automotive Ethernet, etc.
- Passionate about experimental work and data evaluation, hunger to get to the bottom of understanding where models fall short in the real world
- Worked with sensor models for automotive simulation and/or experience with self-driving systems
- Experience leading V&V efforts for production Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) or autonomous driving
